    1. Where is Mill Valley Ranch?

    A: Mill Valley Ranch is located on 160 acres on the border of the beautiful Bunyip State Park in Tynong North.  It is surrounded by rolling green hills and bushland and is home to many native animals and varieties of vegetation.

    2. What does Mill Valley Ranch do?

    A: Mill Valley Ranch is a Christian Youth camp that runs all year round.  We run school camps during school terms, weekend camps for various groups and holiday camps we call Roundups during every school holidays.

    3. How do I get to Mill Valley Ranch?

    A:

    Mill Valley Ranch is only an hour from central Melbourne, East along the Princes Highway.  It is 15 minutes past Pakenham.  Turn left off Princes Highway into Tynong North Rd and follow the road for 5 kms to the Ranch.  The turn off is well sign posted.

    4. What will we do on camp?

    A:

    Mill Valley Ranch offers many different activities such as Archery, Initiative Activities, Low Ropes Course, Lake Activities and more!  We also have a Western Horsemanship Program which is included in every camp program.  You may learn to groom, saddle, lead and care for a horse as well as be taught to ride. 

    During Roundups we run a 4 Level program which will encourage you to improve your horsemanship.  If you progress up a level on camp, you will be awarded with a certificate to celebrate your achievement. 

    Being a Christian Organisation, we have a Chapel time every day where we enjoy sing-a-longs and listen to some practical life lessons that uphold Christian values.  This is a time that is suitable for all people from all backgrounds.

    5. Where will we stay?

    A:

    During your stay at camp you will be staying in either a bunkhouse that is dressed up as an old American Western Store or in one of our authentic covered wagons.  You will be staying with up to 10 other people in your accommodation.

    6. What should I bring?

    A:

    While at camp you will be doing many different activities, so here is a list of things you will need to bring:

    • Bedding (Sheets, Doona or sleeping bag).
    • Your own pillow.
    • A waterproof jacket.
    • A torch.
    • Toiletries.
    • Two towels.
    • Boots with a heel for Horse Riding.
    • Long pants for Horse Riding.
    • Closed toe shoes - runners or sneakers.
    • A hat and bathers.
    • Sunsmart clothing that covers your shoulders & stomach must be worn by Ranchers at all times, this includes swimming gear for the lake (NO singlets or tank tops please!).
    • Old clothes that can get dirty.
    • Clothes appropriate for the dress up/themed dinner.
    • Pocket money for the Ice Cream Parlour & Book Nook.
    • A Bible & note book if you have one.
    • If you wish to bring your own horse riding helmet, please ensure it is a current AS/NZ 3838 and must bear the sticker.  The helmet must be less than 5 years old.

    Please DO NOT bring:

    • Any food that contains nuts.
    • No mobile phones, Ipods or game consoles are permitted at camp.  These items must be left at home & if bought must be handed in at booking in for the duration of the camp for safe keeping.  They create anti social behaviour & we do not want them to get lost or stolen.
    • All medication (in its original packaging) is to be handed into staff at booking in & will be administered by staff as per instructions.
    • Mill Valley is a smoke, alcohol, drug and dog free site.
